Final Project

For this final project, I had to come up with a character and story that uses the media pieces I’ve learned about from ds106. With no money to spend and no crew to help, I definitely faced more challenges. In my head, it all flowed nicely like a movie, but when there’s no one available to hold the camera, it doesn’t work quite as well. Besides that, the biggest challenge of this assignment was time. I had four days to complete this since I’ll be leaving the country for the first time in my life before this assignment is due. In those four days, I had 2 chemistry exams and 1 lab practical. So needless to say I’ve been very busy. If I could do this project over, I’d want to put more time and money into it. Anyway, below is a little background to my story and my inspiration for creating this story.

Caroline Wagner specializes in crime. Not crimes committed by people, but by animals instead. We’ve all seen raccoons steal food and groundhogs jaywalk, but they aren’t ever punished for their bad behavior. Lieutenant Wagner makes sure these animals don’t get away with it.

In the past month, there’s been multiple reports of mice killings at Willowmere Park. One day while jogging, Lieutenant Wagner spots a grotesque scene. She’s able to find a lead at the scene and finally put an end to this. Just when she thinks it’s over, a report of another dead mouse comes in. Will she be able to solve this case? Watch below to find out.

My love of animals and the TV show, Dexter, is what inspired me to come up with this story. Plus, I was actually bit by a cat and it caused me a lot of problems in the month of July. No, I don’t want to see any animals killed, so I changed the character quite a bit from Dexter. I hope this isn’t taken too seriously, I just wanted to try and make it funny by applying human laws to animals.
